– This makes you choice in programs for you kid, very important.
The Standard Guitar lesson in Buffalo will have your kid
Sitting in a tiny broom closet with someone 20 – 30 years older than them who is tired after teaching private lessons all day.
Going through a method book where they will learn how to read notes on each individual string, instead of getting them playing music right away.
Having no outlet to play music with others – their entire music experience will consist of only going to lessons, then going home to practice.
Often leave frustrated. If they aren’t learning boring basics, they’re often learning things out of order or that are too difficult for them. All of this creates an atmosphere that is like public school, leaving your kid unmotivated, with no fun outlet for music, and not experiencing the full experience that music has to offer.
Evan (3rd-year student) – “I’ve enjoyed practicing chords and rhythm, because then you can put them together and play songs!”

FAQ
Practicing the guitar is a skill that takes time to develop, just like any other habit. Kids don’t usually do it on their own right away, and it’s perfectly normal for them to need reminders. You might have to adjust your expectations—don’t worry if it takes a while before your child practices independently. This doesn’t mean they dislike the guitar or the lessons; it’s just part of the process. Learning to practice will also teach them valuable skills they can use in other areas of life.
Rather than forcing long sessions, start with small, manageable practice times—5 minutes is a great starting point. As they get more comfortable, they can gradually build up to 10 or 15 minutes. Practicing a few times a week will help them stay on track with their lessons.
For some kids who are younger, like those around 7 or 8, practicing alone can be challenging. You might need to step in and practice alongside them for about 10 minutes to help them get started and keep them consistent.
To assist with this, each student gets a practice log with easy-to-follow assignments that you can also review. It’s a helpful tool for parents! One of my colleagues, who runs a guitar school, wrote a great article on this subject, and I fully agree with its insights. If you’d like more information, I’d be happy to share it with you.
Music Lessons: What To Expect 6 Months To 10 Years
Absolutely! This teaching method is perfect for shy children. It allows her to connect with other kids who share the same musical interests, helping her build friendships and social confidence along the way. As she progresses and sees her improvement, she’ll also gain a sense of accomplishment and self-assurance.
If you’re looking for a way to gently encourage your shy child to open up, this is one of the best guitar lesson approaches in Buffalo. It’s designed to nurture both her musical and personal growth in a supportive environment.
This worry is understandable, but it’s often a self-fulfilling cycle. If you buy a cheap guitar that feels uncomfortable or doesn’t sound good, it may discourage your child from wanting to keepgoing. However, if you invest in a quality instrument that excites them with its great sound and look, they’re more likely to stay motivated and enjoy playing.
A good guitar can make all the difference in their enthusiasm and willingness to stick with lessons. To increase their chances of success, it’s worth getting them a better instrument they’ll love.
I’m confident she’ll have a very different experience here! Our teaching method is completely different, and often a change in approach can lead to a whole new outcome. Plus, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can take a full month to see if our style of teaching is a good fit for her. If it’s not, you’re free to make a change with no worries.
Madelyn (3rd -year-student) – “I definitely prefer this style more than the previous lessons I took. The last place was small, crowded, and it was just me and the teacher. Also, we just learned out of a book. This has been a lot more fun and a lot easier, too.”
